Mid Century Vintage Jewelry for the Discerning Collector

The 1950s were a period in jewelry making that is frequently characterized by the term mid century. At that time, textured metals became highly popular. The same was true for the depictions of nature. This was also the time that De Beers went after the consumer dollar with a vengeance. Not surprisingly, diamonds reigned front and center for many pieces. If you are ready to own a piece of history, we have a mid-century jewelry collection that you have to see to believe.

Round and Pear-shaped Garnet Dangle Earrings in Gold

These vintage dangle earrings feature 14k yellow gold as the setting material. This color beautifully offsets the deep brownish red coloration of the garnets. The round stones measure 6mm and weigh in at a combined 2.0cts. The pear-shaped garnets measure 12mm by 8mm and weigh a total of 6.70cts. From top to bottom, these earrings measure 36.64mm. Wear this garnet combination whenever you are in need of a dramatic look.

Persian Turquoise Ring in White Gold with Diamonds

Made in the 1950s, this 14k white gold ring cradles one of the most spectacular Persian turquoises that we have seen in a long time. It is oval and displays a natural blue that shows very slight leanings to a yellow and green shade. It weighs 9.0cts and is opaque. Seventeen round full-cut diamonds weigh 1.0cts and lend a bright sparkle to the look of the center stone.

Gray-blue Baroque Pearl Earrings with White Gold

These mid century earrings are a stellar example of the textured metal affinity that the 1950s held so dear. The pearl earrings feature 14k white gold that is florentined for maximum effect. Blue-gray baroque pearls are authentically colored and not dyed. From top to bottom, the jewels measure 27.36mm. The pearls alone measure 11mm by 9.5mm.

Large Grape Leaf Pendant/Pin Showcasing Pearls and Diamonds

The setting material is 14k white gold. Wear this jewel as a pendant or as a pin. Both styles offer a remarkable effect. The detail work of this nature-themed jewel is stunning. There are 24 single-cut diamonds that weigh .20cts and offer a lot of sparkle. This effect increases with another 26 round full-cut diamonds weighing .80cts. Sixty cultured Japanese pearls measure between 3mm to 5.5mm and are the grapes of this jewel. Five baguette-cut diamonds weighing .35cts adorn the stem. We are confident in stating that this is the type of jewelry that you will not see every day.

Red Rubelite Tourmaline and Diamond Ring in White Gold

A very impressive mid-century ring, this piece displays an oval red rubelite tourmaline weighing 6.35cts. On the sides of the ring, the 14k white gold setting holds 10 tapered baguette diamonds weighing .60cts. Two straight baguette diamonds weigh .24cts and add focal points even to the sides of the ring. What a dazzling piece!
